Dr. David Goldenberg has been named the inaugural holder of the newly established Kristen Olewine Milke Professorship in Otolaryngology. The appointment recognizes his contributions to the field and his leadership within the department.
Goldenberg, a specialist in head and neck surgery, has been with the institution for years, focusing on thyroid and parathyroid disorders as well as cancers of the head and neck. The professorship was created through a gift from the Milke family, intended to support research, education, and clinical care in otolaryngology.
In his new role, Goldenberg will continue his work in advancing surgical techniques and training the next generation of physicians. He has published extensively on minimally invasive approaches and has been involved in several clinical trials.
The professorship is named in honor of Kristen Olewine Milke, whose family has a long history of supporting medical research. Goldenberg said he is honored to hold the position and looks forward to building on the department's strengths. He emphasized the importance of mentorship and innovation in improving patient outcomes.
The appointment is effective immediately.
