The advisory, which had urged caution with pre-packaged and restaurant salads, is now lifted following a noticeable slowdown in new case reports.

Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis. Symptoms typically include watery diarrhea, cramping, bloating, and fatigue, and can last for weeks if untreated. The outbreak this summer had prompted the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to recommend that people avoid eating raw leafy greens from certain sources, especially those served in commercial settings.
