HCA Healthcare has completed its purchase of The College of Health Care Professions, a move that adds a large educational institution to the hospital operator's portfolio. The deal, announced on September 15, brings more than 8,000 students into the company's orbit each year. The college operates 10 campuses across Texas along with online programs, and it offers over 20 accredited healthcare programs.

The acquisition gives HCA a direct pipeline for workforce development. Hospitals across the country have struggled with staffing shortages, particularly in nursing and allied health roles. By owning a college that trains thousands of students annually, HCA can shape curriculum, accelerate hiring, and reduce reliance on outside recruitment.
