In Summer 2024, a group of Education students and faculty embarked on a transformative journey to Kenya as part of a study abroad experience. This unique opportunity allowed participants to immerse themselves in the local culture while gaining valuable insights into global education practices. The program included visits to various schools, where students observed different teaching methodologies and interacted with local educators.
Throughout their stay, the group participated in community service projects aimed at improving educational resources in underprivileged areas. These experiences not only enriched the students' understanding of educational disparities but also fostered a deep appreciation for the resilience and creativity of Kenyan educators and students.
The trip was designed to enhance the students' global perspective on education, preparing them to become more effective teachers in an increasingly interconnected world. As they returned home, participants reflected on the profound impact of their experiences, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration in education.
